I have the last 3-series with a handbrake.
Came across this pic of a manual G20.

Really? The last one made? Impressive, I don’t even know how you’d find that out.

My mom drives an F30. The handbrake feels... inauthentic? Not “fake” because it does fee like a real handbrake, but it feels strange. Like, when stopped, it’s easy to lift, but when moving, there’s a lot more resistance (my dad’s 2016ish Jetta is the same way). Compared to my old Elantra or my Golf where the resistance feels the same moving or stopped (I know because I am a hooligan), they just feel... weird.

Hey if you didn’t want petty, humorless, pedantic, redundant answers... you came to the wrong internet lol

Ew. I mean mine is AWD so I can’t use the Ebrake for drifting, but I’d be real sad if I bought a RWD 3 series and didn’t get a handbrake.

If I’m not mistaken BMW handbrakes are actually different than how other manufacturers do it. It has a separate shoe.

As I understand it, most (cheap)
cars with four wheel discs have the handbrake set up as a cable operated system that has a set of drums and shoes on the rear wheels (behind the discs so you can’t see em) that are activated when you pull the hand lever. I’m pretty sure my mom’s F30 didn’t though, rather it locked the rear discs using the normal calipers. I never poked around back there, though.

I could be wrong. The only thing I remember was after I did my rear brakes my handbrake barely held and I had to take it back to the shop. My mech took a screwdriver, poked it around for a bit and it was all good.
And this diagram suggests there are parking shoes.

And I’m pretty sure my Solstice doesn’t have shoes.

It’s the diesel, the only G20 with a manual.

Hm. I remember lil baby shoes when I did rear brakes on my Elantra. Had to adjust their tension so they would "grab" sooner or later by popping up the floor of the center console and spinning a wrench, too, which was a major PITA.

Yep, my E46 has a mini drum brake setup with shoes mounted to the backing plate, using the inner surface of the rotor hat as the drum.
They're a real treat to adjust!
